I decided that my free project was going to be another landscape picture. It didn't start that way. I had so many ideas and sketches jotted down on scrap pieces of paper- until one afternoon hubby and I decided to have dinner by the water. The lovely flat water with shimmery colours were too delicious not to capture. I'm not sure if I did it justice or not, still learning how to paint, but it was a lot of fun.
Unfortunately I've been really behind in submitting an ooak doll into one of the national doll competitions. Being unwell, and with all the TAFE assignments due, I've watched 3 doll competitions pass me by. I'm really hoping I can get a doll finished in time for one of them this year. I have 2 offline commission pieces awaiting my attention so I hope everything doesn't set me too far back. I will keep my Etsy store on vacation for a while longer, especially with the offline prospects that will have to take priority for a bit. No trips out to the post office, I need to chain myself to my work station/ kitchen table :P
On the bright side though, I'm working on publishing a huge sculpting tutorial onto my website. Not made by me, but an amazing doll artist who has been very generous. I won't say any more to spoil the surprise. Just keeping you all on your toes!
Tip of the day: When you are getting frustrated with an artwork, put it aside and start something else. It's amazing how a clean slate can free up your mind. Return to the artwork when you're all refreshed!
turned out great Amanda of course I like it as well as my surname is Hume LOL LOL
