Learning to Paint

Ahhh, another TAFE assignment. Before the holidays the teacher taught us some colour theory an experimenting with styles like Henri Matisse. Below is my experiment with his style. Not really a style I enjoy to paint, but I guess you need to walk before you can run...

Then she told us that for the holiday we should use a reference and spin a landscape painting in our own style. I went for a somewhat surreal shapes and colour to the sky and ground. I'm hoping she finds it stylised enough to pass me haha. Painting isn't my forte but I'm really hoping I can keep growing as I go through this course. I'm hoping it will allow me to paint my sculpture work more efficiently. Is anyone else out there learning to paint? I find it so hard to plan ahead with my artworks, and painting requires a lot of it. I guess maybe that's why I struggle sometimes.

PS. Sorry about how dim painting is, the lighting isn't very good around here at the moment lol.
